Seas looked calm but it was pretty bumpy on the way to Catalina. We averaged about 25 MPH as not to get too bumped around. On the way back it was smoother and we were going 35-40 MPH most of the way. We left from Newport Beach to Avalon in Catalina Island, went up the coast of Catalina and then headed to the Port of Los Angeles, and from there we returned to Newport Beach. Went about 95 miles that morning in our little boat. She handled it fine. At faster speeds it's not a ride your grandma would enjoy, but me and my son had a fun time skipping over the swells on the trip.
