Hi All,

Just joined this forum, some great info so far. I'm about to pickup a free 93 XP from a friend who had the engine out for rebuild but never got around to doing it. The Seadoo is in good condition just needs engine work. It comes with spare heads as well that are in good shape.

Is it worth getting it, rebuilding and enjoying or should I not waste my time and look for something else? It's for some fun at the cottage since we have no toys, I REALLY want a Sea-doo boat but can't find one at a good price so in the meantime I could play around with this thing.

It doesn't come with a trailer so I would have to spend a few bucks on getting one of those where I've seen a few late 90's Sea-Doo with trailer for 2-4k so that might be a better deal. I just figured free isn't bad.

Thanks,
Jerome

It sounds like you don't have much to loose but maybe some time to get it running. Just as long as you don't have to spend a lot of money on it to get it running. You should have some inexpensive fun. Who knows, maybe you could get it running and sell it for a newer one even.

That's the thing not know how much I would have to put into it, I guess I will probably get it home, do a thorough look at what it's going to need to get it running and then see if it's worth it. I'll take pics and post them up on here.

If I need to spend 2k with purchase of a trailer..might be better off to get a 99/00 running condition one with trailer for 3-4k.

But as you said if it's going to cost me around 1k I could use it this summer then sell it and get something bigger/newer next year with no money lost.

That would be the best thing. Be sure it won't cost ya a bunch of money just to get this one running...if it does it might take all summer to get it running, and you won't have any fun.
