One Ski on a Double Trailer

I am wondering how tough it is to tow one ski on a double trailer? I have a double SeaDoo Move. Is it pretty unstable or you just have to be careful? Does anyone have experience with this?

I was also told not to cover the skis while towing because the cover will hurt the finish of the skis. That seems a little odd because even the video from SeaDoo about the trailer shows one being towed with the cover on.

The cover on/off seems to be personal preference. I haven't yet towed my seadoo, but I've towed my yammi for years with a cover and never had any adverse affects on the paint.

If towing one on a double, just have couple buddies sit on the other bunks while you tow it...:)...
OK that's a joke DON'T DO IT that way....just kidding.
But it should be OK to put one on a dual.
How far are you towing it?

A Poppy cover fits tight and doesn't promote wind damage....what type/brand of cover do you have now?

Hey "Buddy", can I get a couple of swimsuit models for the counterbalance?
I have the SeaDoo covers and I will be towing them long distances. My skis are in Alabama now and I live in Texas. We have vacation property there.

I towed my waverunners double and single for years. No issues running one on a double trailer. I also used factory covers on all of them, and hardly ever towed without them.

The factory yamaha covers were made by Sunbrella. They had the little vent cones on the outside. Many thought those were designed to allow ventilation in, when in actuality, at highway speeds they created negative pressure in the cover and sucked out the air. This pulled the cover down tight and minimized flop in the wind. The finish was never bothered by the cover. In fact, the amount of sun kept off seats and plastics would have outweighed any potential rubs which could have been easily buffed out. Neither happened.

So cover them up, and don't be afraid of running solo.

Good luck!

do not tow with the covers on your sea doo. Those other covers mentioned were designed for trailering where the sea doo covers are not. It will not hurt the paint but the covers will be damaged and will tear around the handlebar area.

Exactly. My 1998 original cover is in the same condition as my 2011 cover. Trailered with every weekend.
