Did it all I thought, Battery, oil, filters, greased fittings, started both engines with hose feed....DIDNT CHECK THE BILGE!!!!!??? Fail

SeaTow saved me today, my bilge stopped , well never started

Got home pulled the pump and it works hooked to batt charger?? to the Harness... no?

I see in 2 different manuals fuses for it but when I look at the fuse blocks under each back seat pans..nothing marked BILGE??

small manual shows a dangler fuse..cant find that?

ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THE FUSE FOR A 2005 speedster 200 BILGE?

HELP!!!

thx

does it work in manual?
there is a inline fuse for auto direct connect to the battery, hanging down behind the battery (3amp). just hang upside down over battery side and look behind the battery.

Finally found the fuses..both blown! either the wires hung down into the water last yr b4 winterizing or when I put the battery back in it might have jolted it?

Anyways-lessons learned! I have the downloaded manual as well as the owners manual and its very illusive about where the fuse block is for this.

There are three fuse blocks on board, one each below the rear seat trays for Engines...the other as the manual said is behind the instrument cluster ..(I looked 5 times before I saw it!)

I did discover that even with the main battery switch off, the auto feed for the Bilge is on!! so if it got stuck it would kill your battery!

Auto Fuse is a hanging fuse behind the Battery rotating switch, pop the back up bend over look under the cowling and its one of two hanging there.
Switched fuse if 4th inline in the main fuseblock behind the Gauge cluster.

I'll be carrying a small voltmeter, extra fuses, 2 conductor wire and a small dc water pump from now on!

that the purpose auto bilge being ready when power is off, so the boat wont sink when moored. yes it will drain the battery or blow the fuse if jammed or continuing running.
just check pump is working before you launch in manual, you can hear the pump working or not. then in 10 mins or when under way check again in manual, you will hear or see if any water is being pumped out. my auto blow a fuse and i didnt know, but luckily i check when under way and noticed the pump was pumping water out, could have been expensive outing....

I was wondering the same thing today, have I tested the bilge pump or did I forget? I guess it won't hurt to test it again if I can only remember to....

But, I don't understand how not checking the bilge pump resulted in a seatoe? :)

My 05-200speedster takes on water from somewhere? nothing the bilge cant pump out once anchored for 3-5 minutes...was never a concern as I always heard Jetboats do "Leak" alittle more than prop boats??

After cruise n maybe 5 miles on the bay yesterday (It was very Choppy) I could feel the extra weight and with two kids onboard I figured Id get SeaTow come and pump me out before I rode another 5 miles back to dock...I pd for it might as well use it! by the time they got there I had water up to the middle of the Muffler tank so it was warranted.

Now I gotta find where its comin in? I did pop up the back while underway in a no-wake zone (6mph) and looked to make sure it wasnt blowin out a hose or pressurized part-its not. I think Ill run the hose in the hull with bungplug in and see where if anywhere its leakin? any suggestions?

A common area is the seam under the molding in the rear. To test this, leave the boat on the trailer strapped down and plugs in. Back in far enough to get the rub rail/seam under the water. See if the bulge starts filling up.

I'm installing a secondary manual bilge pump over winter for this exact reason!

The jet boats don't leak. It's just not wise to leave them in the water in case the carbon ring fails. Everybody's advice about having a second bilge pump is good advice. I found a great article on bilge pumps at boat US http://www.boatus.com/boattech/casey/installing-bilge-pump.asp

The complaint I have is mounting the pump around the engine. The engine takes up a lot of room and the dual pump arrangement in the article would not work. Unless I put a big pump towards the back and a narrow one down low. Once I pull my engine I plan to redo the bilge pump. I have had a failure of my cover with a big rain dumping a load of water into the boat before.

Good article referenced by Xintersecty...it says not to use corrugated tubing re flow restriction. SeaDoo does use that type of line, at least thats what is in mine

Over that sort of distance pumping out at low pressures friction loss will be marginal to not at all between correlated and smooth walled tubing. Just make sure the inner wall of your tubing is the same diameter as your pump outlet
