One More Rookie Question.. :D

Question is about the "Bilge Siphon" hose that lays in the bottom of the hull where the motor is.. i under stand the name of it.. but what if your hull doesn't have water in it "aka no leaks" is it just there in case water builds up in the hull? sorry for the lame questions, just trying to under stand how merc set this motor and drive up.

It's there just in case, you are not the perfect "no leaks" boat. As long as the engine is running, that hose will draw water out of the bilge. Keep the strainer screen clean. Just spray it off with hose water.
