while in storage with the oil tank only half full the small line leading to the check valve at the top was and still is full of oil. and it appears that oil has been pushing thru the check valve at a very slow rate throughout the winter. probably like 3 or 4 drips a day.
is there any cause for concern here?
has this happened to any of you?

EDIT******
OK, now that I reread your post.....I was thinking of something else.

Was the dripping onto the hull or where?

I don't think this problem has anything to do with the crank seals, it sounds to me that the check valve is stuck closed and you need to replace the check valve, in fact if you don't overfill your oil tank you can just do away with it and let the tank vent without the valve.

monday i am going to see if local dealer has one. looks like shipping would be more than the part.

hey Tim, check with Minnetonka or 99spxxx to see if they have one kicking around from one of their boat hulls...

I have seen oil in that small line on ours, but it does not drip or leak. I only use the tank so the RV bearings have oil, I premix. so it`s just pass half full...

good luck...

If you find a vendor, OSD, here or other see if they will stick it in a envelope instead of actual shipping box... that should be cheaper...
