Oil pump delete plug

Which way does the oil pump delete plug go, curved side up or down? The shaft has a flat side and a rounded side.

I just installed mine yesterday. It only wanted to fully insert and sit flat against block in one direction... with the flat edge more upward (round down). In the other direction, the end plate wouldn't sit flat. I did have to oblong my bolt holes in the plastic just a tad to get them to go in nicely with my fingers. (they didn't line up well with plate in either direction).
