oil pump cable adjustment 94xp

since I am not sure I assume you rotate the spring so that when the throttle is pushed the spring tension on the oil pump reacts to the throttle advancement. Am i assuming this correctly.

First you need to adjust the carburetor idle so the speed adjust touches the adjustment plate. Turn the screw 2 more turns. Turn the cable adjustment screw to align the marks on the Injector pump.Look closely and you 'll see the marks on the cable disk and the pump.Use a mirror if necessary. The throttle and oil injector must be synchronized to react at the same time. This adjustment is the same on single or dual carb models.

so the challenge is setting it up at idle.

I assume that once youve set up idle , then the full throttle will pull the cable further off of the alignment mark to allow more oil flow .

Exactly, first make sure the idle is adjusted properly and the marks align on the pump and the disk attached to cable at the pump. All else will fall into place. If you still have questions give me a shout.
