I just removed my spark plugs on my 03 gtx and they had oil residue on them, what could be wrong? I have been having low rpms and low speed so this could be something contributing.....

hey....do a compression check, oil on plug/s cant be good. Since ur premium member, check to see ideal compression is, know the 2 stroes is 150psi...

if it helps at all i have two 3d's and i was having a set of plugs misfire on me an when i went to replace them they had oil looking residue on them enough to cover my palm. are you sure its oil and not carbon?

well im an outboard mechanic and all outboard get carbon on the plugs just matters how much. smaller motors run a lot cleaner by buying higher octane fuel. best thing you can do to clean the motor without hurting it is buying a can of de-carbonizer like brps, engine tuner or mercurys' power tune. other reasons of too much carbon are plugs not firing strong ,weak spark, idleling too much, running at that certain rpm past idle but not getting on a plane, for fuel injected motors, dirty injectors not fully closing, for carbuerated motors air leak on fuel pump or carbs needle and seat not fully seating.

its really too many things it can be but theres a couple of thoughts
