Ok, I have my oil tank out and drained of a 1997 GTS with 717 engine. Trying to decide what oil to start using. I have read many a thread, and debate, etc. Still Haven't found what I am looking for, as they say.

The operators guide for this year says for anything but SPX/GSX/GTX/XP use BOMBARDIER ROTAX INJECTION OIL or equivlaent.

Then it goes on to say for SPX/GSX/GTX/XP use the synthetic version of the same.

Should I infer then that synthetic is NOT to be used in a GTS or would synthetic be overkill so to say? I would think that it would be ok and people use this and that with no problems, but generally those people have the type of ski in the second category.

I am really asking because one post I read said that synthetic might actually damage components in older models?

First off you should add you seadoo model and year to your avatar for future questions. I recomend that you keep using what the original owner has used from the start. That engine is better off using what it is used to than start using something either a better lube or not as good as it has become used to, if you know what I mean.
