Oil Leaking

I have a 99 GSX LTD. After about 3 hrs of run time I noticed an oil trail running down the back cylinder. I start to investigate... It appears to be leaking from the black plastic cap with the red piece in it. I investigate further to find out that the back one is not assembled under the cover. I proceed to take the other one apart then put the back one together as the front one is. The next day I hit the water & notice my ski is running smoother on the low end but now has less top end. A few hours into it, it fouls out the back cylinder plug & I'm forced to putt home on only one cylinder. Any ideas as to whether or not these two situations could be connected?

Thanks in advance,
Landon.

Welcome GSXLAD!

The screw part can be screwed up or down (using top surface of the black cap) as an adjustment. But this only really affects the point when the RAVE valve actuates - it shouldn't have as much to do with the fouling. More likely there is a carb that is out of adjustment.

But just to be sure, you might want to do a compression test to compare the rear cylinder with the front on.

Then you may want to verify the low speed adjuster screw position. Low should be fully closed counterclockwise, and the loosened counterclockwise 1 and 1/2 turns. The other screw (high speed adjuster) should be fully closed.

If your problem continues, then you could adjust the low speed screw in 1/4 turns to dial it in a little better - check the plug color as you go along per this guide->http://www.seadooforum.com/showthread.php?t=4151&highlight=read+spark+plug
