hello eveyone,

I have a 1999 seadoo gtx rfi and have had this slow oil leak for the entire season now and have replaced almost eveything possible. I have replaced the seal on the oil resivor, all three lines from the oil resivor and even pulled out the oil resivor and inspected it. The oil seems to always sit underneath the engine, therefore i believe it's somewhere around there. I have then narrowed the leak down to the line that comes off of the top of the oil resivor and to the left side of the engine under the spark plugs. i noticed it seems to have a hint of oil on the hose tensioner all the time. I have pulled that line off, checked it yet again for a split in the hose, reconnected it and tightened the line. i just got home from work today and under the engine is a small puddle of oil along with some oil on the hose tensioner. I guess it's coming from somewhere above where the hose connects onto the engine. Does that a connection have a seal on it going inot the engine? or is it direct into the engine? Hopefully it's not fractured and not replaceable! any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping for the best. Thanks

Rotary valve?.....

It sounds like you have a leak somewhere at your rotary inlet or outlet. If the nipple is cracked like you think it may be, then you can screw it out and put a new one in.....the problem is, Rotax put this oiling system in such a darned hard place to get to............also, if you put the clamp on, you may have tightened it to tight and cut into that clear plastic hose, causing it to leak again. Remove, trim and replace again but when you clamp it, only tighten it snug, not "tight". Also, check your clamps to make sure you don't have any sharp edges.

You say a puddle in the middle. Is it possible that your oil injection pump is leaking and puddling in the middle, under the engine where your rotary valve is? Take a mirror and look down at the front, shining a flashlight at it so you can see good............

ok will do, It's such a small leak that its probably just that something isn't snug and its leaking just a tad. Like you said though, both the inlet and outlet hoses are an adventure to get to. I'll check it out some more with the advice you gave. Thanks a bunch! :)
