i have a 99 gti

what is that tube comming out of the hull next to the battery vent line ?

there was some oil (i think it was oil) leaking out of it, down the side of the hull.

there are 2 tubes coming out of the hull on the left side, just forward of the handle bars, just under the bumper.

one is the battery vent. i tried to trace the other one back, but the line just goes back into the inside of the hull and i cant trace it

Those two tubes are vents.

One is bat vent.

One if fuel tank vent.

Mine has 2 vents. One like yours, out the side, and another just in front of the seat.

REplace those gray lines!

Why Replace the gray fuel lines?

Because they are cheap, and disintegrating into the fuel system. If one carb gets more crud than the other, then one runs lean. Sometimes this can contribute to a ruined jug, and the need for a top end job.

They look FINE on the outside, but the INSIDE green slime/glue/crud is simply horrible.

I did not believe it at first, until I took mine apart. It is for real.

You will need 25 ft of good fuel line, and about 15 stainless steel clamps.

It is easy, if you do ONE at a time.
