i own a 96 spx. it has been a great machine to ride. i'm in the process of removing the oil injection pump. I don't want to take a risk riding with a 12yr old pump. I have taken the bolts off of the pump to the point where it is almost out. However, there is something keeping it from coming out. Seems like something is still attached. Any suggestions to what this might be?

the gear inside the manifold. Either take the 4 main bolts hold'n the manifold on motor, expos'n the rotary valve, make sure that dont pop off the gear, doin this, save alot of yell'n, or take the 6bolts off hold'n the rv plate assy to the manifold, but theres a gear in there. Gear unbolts right off, no problem...

thank u for your advise .i paid for the premium subscription and was able to see exactly what u were talking about in the shop manual section. many thanks.:)
