Good morning.

Looking for some help in determining if the 1994 Seadoo GTX Oil Injector Pump is interchangeable with the one on the 1995 Seadoo GTX?

The pump look identical except for the cable connection to the Carb.

Thanks, George

I don't have a source for part numbers beyond 1996. I know Mikidymac often posts one. :) That would probably help identify the compatiblity.

I suppose if you have the correct cable connection to the carb the pumps are likely the same.

LOL!
No, he was just asking if the pumps would interchange. Had he asked to go premix I would have jumped all over him:p:p
Oh no, i am not liking the sound of that. I better confess....I already went premix. Might as well let me have it. After cooking the last rebuild, I figured I would go through the break in and decide whether or not to go back to oil injection, hence the question about the pumps since I have both models. Part numbers are different, but it looks like that has to do with the cap since the cable routes differently on the 94.

The only thing with premix is...
1. You still have to supply oil to the rotary oil bath.
2. You will use more oil.
3. You will be a little too rich at idle and could load up in no wake zones.
4. You will use more oil, lol.

Point 3 is where I am now. Good color on the plugs at 30% to WOT with crisp response. Idle is still to rich and until warmed up, it loads up. I have closed the Low Speed Adjuster 1/4 turn. It's better, but still rich.

Just curious on the current carb setting on the low speed. Rich on the low speed could be a leaking needle/seat or pop off setting on the low side.

Just something to think about if your low speed issues presist. Pop-Off affects the whole fuel delivery system but it is most pronounced at low-speed.

Thank you. That is a good thing to keep in mind. With the Pop Off range from Seadoo Source being 19 to 35, I figured I was close with 27, but that might be a little low. Maybe, a setting more like 32 would be better. From my understanding of the Needle and Seat, until it pops, the carb is providing less fuel therefore making it a leaner condition. Please, correct me if I have that wrong, but that makes sense to me if the needle is held shut longer. I plan to put a few more hours on it this week. If it continues, I pull the carbs and see if I can raise the psi a little higher. Cheers, George

If you are using the Mikuni spring with the new needle and seat... the Pop-Off should be spot on where it needs to be. Yes, higher pop-off equals leaner. I'd only fool with it if it is a problem Ride it like you stole it. :D

I wouldn't mess with the carb settings too much. Running premix you will just have to live with being a little rich at idle. You have to figure at premix you are always at 32:1 or 40:1 no matter what. With the oil injection it is about 100:1 at idle and 32:1 at WOT.
