My son wanted to clean carb on our 94 seadoo spi. So intaking it apart, and getting it back together. He can not seem to figure out how he unhooke the cable from the carb to the oil injector pump.

The pump seems to have a cable attaching arm that can spin 360 degrees, with a spring on the arm.

I have looked at it but since i did not take it apart, it is hard for me to come in in the middle. Does any one have picture of position of arm on pump and cable hook up?

Thanks
Trent

Sometimes the end of the spring that control the pump disk or lever will come off the pump housing, this will cause it to just spin around 360. The end of the spring has a stopper that attaches in a little groove on the pump housing. You may have to take the oil pump off to see it or use a mirror down there. As far as aligning the cable with the pump, there is a line stamped in the disk and a line stamped in the pump housing, these should be aligned by adjusting the cable to move the disk. Probably use a mirror for that as well.

Cables.......

:agree: He's correct, but in doing this myself a couple times, I may be able to put it in easier terms.

There are two ways to do this. First, you'll notice locking nuts on either side of cable. Take the nut off on the side that's facing the carb. Then, you'll see a little "slice" cut into that bracket. You can pull the cable out till the cable will pull through that slice in the bracket, attach the keeper at the end of the cable, back to the cam of the carb or, you can reach around to the front of the engine, where the oil pump is, manually grab the cam and twist it to the wide open position. Doing this will give you a lot of slack to twist that keeper up sideways to fit it through that little slot in the cam of the carb.

I hope that helps..............
