Since oil injection cable is obsolete what is good way to repair? The hollow screw that held the throttle stop is gone so I had broken cable sandwiched between 2 nuts n it isn't working out. Should I just drill a screw n try to replicate factory? What have others done in this situation?

It's the oil cable that runs from the carbs to the lever on the bottom of motor and it opens the oil lever as the carbs open... Missing the oil adjustment screw on the carb end as well

Part 23... Cable and parts to both ends are sold as a whole.... Guess that includes the hollow bolt as well

What about bicycle brake cable cut to length... Drill out appropriate size bolt with a throttle stop after its ran through the bolt... That would allow me to screw in n out of bracket to adjust tension??

Get ahold of that guy here and I bet he can send you the part you need. I would not try to make something work cause if it fails it cost you a motor over a 20 or so dollar part.

When the cable fails the oil pump goes to full open.

Yep ur right... Spring makes a full rotation of lever... Hadn't really thought about having to twist tension backwards when Installing cable last time ... Sure is a relief u brought that to my attention! Won't be near as scared now, I was contemplating premix! Good design by engineer... Also explains the white smoke haha

image.jpgI ordered the part but what do u guys think about this set-up to get through the 4th of July weekend? I tested it for a couple minutes n it seems smooth

Picture isn't great quality... Basically ran a new cable and used a throttle stop on each side of the block that the adjustment screw should b in

If it was me, I'd think...If you feel confident it will not snag/stay closed, go for it.

What's the worst that can happen? How likely it is to happen? can you live with yourself knowing you took the risk and failed? How big is the reward (a weekend you will never get back)

Only you can decide for yourself

It's worked good so far, very smooth action. Now that I realize it floods the block with oil as opposed to cutting it off I figured I'd go for it! Except.... Carbs actin up AGAIN
