Oil injection bypass kit

I am slowly bringing back to life a 2000 Challenger 2000 with the EFI V6. It has sat for several years but to much of my surprise I put a battery in it to see if the motor would spin and before I could turn key in the off position it started! I was shocked but did not want to run it until I drain all the gas and at that point would like to do the bypass.

I want to delete the oil injection and I see where several have installed a kit on this forum but do not know where to order. Also would like to service the pump this weekend and was wondering if there is a post on how to do that as well. Thanks in advance. This is the best forum I have ever participated in hands down!

Most of your parts can be ordered from boats.net . I buy from them often... but I didn't remove the pump on my boat... so I can't help out with the part numbers. But, they are listed in a couple of the threads.

The weather has not been great in our area so the total number of days out has been low, but overall I am pleased.

I notice a little bit more smoke near the launch, but I don't spend a lot of time in the no wake zones, so extra smoke is pretty much no issue once I get going.

I debated this procedure for a season and then decided to go through with it. My boat has a near perfect interior, a new jetdrive in 2010 and I could not see losing the engine to a common problem with 10+ year old Mercury 2 strokes. I am not the most mechanical guy on this forum by a long shot, but I just followed the posted procedures and got the job done.

I spend most of my days tubing and skiing so I am running it pretty hard with the start ups and and the drag of the huge tube so I feel much better knowing it always has 50:1 oil.

I also typically fill up from 5 gallon cans so I premix the oil when I buy my fuel.

all parts needed for the conversion can be purchased from boats.net. Look through the posts, there are a couple that list the parts needed. It will cost you around $20 for the parts.
