Good day everyone, i just bought a 2001 seadoo sportster le, according on what i found it should be a 1x BOMBARDIER-ROTAX 947, 2-stroke.
for sure i know it's a 2 stroke, so my question is what king of oil i should buy for it.
i ask the guy who i bought it from(only owner of the boat before me) and he said he use Castrol 2 stroke for injection engine and to ensure it was saying TCW at the bottom of the jug he also mentioned the oil was dark blue.

so i am asking on here because everywhere i read it sais not to use TCW

i am just looking for guidance

Yes everything you read is correct. No seadoo ever made uses TCW-3 oil and if that’s what he always used that 951 is on borrowed time. That wrong “blue” oil needs to be removed, flushed and a new oil filter installed. Add only full synthetic API-TC rated oil just like every sticker on the boat says and bleed the oil pump.

Where are you located? As I only see Castrol snowmobile oil here in the US listed. It is API-TC rated but doesn't specify synthetic.

I would still get it out of there and run the correct oil. The 951 needs all the lubrication it can get. Pro Caliber has the seadoo synthetic oil for $36 a gallon, buy 3 and get free shipping.

Look around and find some Mystic JT-4 full synthetic 2-stroke oil. It has API and other ratings so it is perfectly appropriate to use in any Sea-Doo motor that requires an API oil. It comes in gallon jugs marked either PWC or snowmobile. It doesn't matter they're both the same exact oil. Mystic is huge with snowmobilers who run basically the same BRP rave valve Motors. If you can't find a retailer near you you can buy it direct from Mystic. I was lucky to find a mom and pop oil distributor in my area who always has a couple 4 gallon cases laying around. I think the last case I bought cost me $78.

Thanks for the info, pretty sure Canadian tire carry this oil, do you think I can wait to be low and then top up with the mystik oil?
