oil for 1998 Sportster 1800 ? ?

Just bought this boat used from a dealer on consignment. They don't know what type of oil the guy was using in it, and apparently he doesn't know either. He was taking it somewhere that isn't operating anymore, great....

So, I have heard you can go from regular to synthetic with the API-TC, but not from synthetic to regular.. so should I just go with API-TC synth oil? I also heard that if he has been running a certain kind of oil for a number of years, that switching to synthetic could damage the bearings??? Is this correct? What is the safest thing for me to do? There is about half a tank of oil left right now.

based on the color of whats in there, bet somebody can chime in on whats in there now..

I know my oil looks like it is green. Can anyone chime in on what it is? I wouldn't think it would matter as long as you are using 2 stroke oil for injected engines.

I'll have to check the color of my oil I guess... so with my 1998 Sportster.. I have the dual 85HP motors from what I was told.. are these the 717's ? Did SeaDoo even make synthetic oil when this boat came out?
