I have gone to two dealers now and both have told me that the NEW SYN BLEND was made to replace the MINERAL OIL that I have been using in my 07 RXT. My manual clearly states to use the MINERAL OIL. but the dealers assure me the new SYN BLEND is better and just fine to use. Any ideas???????

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know that the last time I listened to a dealer telling me which oil to use, it cost me $2,200 to fix.

NO...the Synthetic Blend replaces the Synthetic. Do not use any Synthetic in your seadoo if you need to run Mineral.(Example is the older SuperCharged models) Now you can upgrade to synthetic from mineral but you can never go from Synthetic back to Mineral. Here is my Idea of 33 years of engine repairs...If your using Mineral stick to it. If you have been using Synthetic stick to in. I never switch back and forth. Here is what seadoo recommends;
Recommended oil and fuel use.

Use High quality low ASH API TC Injector oil.
Do Not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard motor oils or other ash less type 2 cycle oil. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reaction will cause severe engine damage. Never mix Mineral or synthetics oil together.

Never use fuel containing more than 10 % alcohol,( Methanol or Ethanol) as severe damage will occur. The minimum of 87 octane is recommended for most engines.

Thanks for the info. I just talked to another dealer and he's more old school. He said to stick with the MINERAL.

One of his techs just came back from training classes and he was told that the SYN Blend is OK to use so he said it was up to me.

A $2,200 repair bill is something I want to avoid... Sounds like MINERAL OIL to me.

That's exactly what I said in my post...Synthetic is more refined but causes havoc if you change...

This worries me some. I have always ran xp-s synthetic in mine, but a couple of years ago, I went by my local dealer and the parts guy gave me mineral. I told him that I had been running synthetic and he said the mineral was the replacement for my particular model. I used that one gallon and when I went back, I again questioned the availability of synthetic and low and behold, they had xp-s synthetic. I told him I prefer to use that and have used it ever since. It does not appeared to have caused me any problems as of yet, but it really aggravates me that the parts department at the dealer could be this mis-informed.
