Oil change ... just bought a new 03 sportster.

Any suggestions on what synthetic oil to use?

I use the OEM kits. Comes with plugs, filter, and oil. You can use full synthetic with no issues. If you had a SC, then you would need one rated for slip clutches.

Most buy Motor Cycle oil if they don't buy the OEM oil.

Thanks for the info, I guess I'll use 10w40 4t full synthetic, even though my 4 tec isn't sc. Sounds like it's still a good choice for these high rpm motors.
