The resistance isn't as important as the fact that the resistance changes when the float in the baffle tube moves up and down. There isn't any way to change the reading...but it must have a reading to operate.

Karl this is true and trust me I am just not that exact of a person if I see a change as floats goes up and dn then hey Im good. I sall someother people talking about getting ohm readings and there tanks being full but showing a 1/4 tank or somethin like that. I just figured I'd post it as one way to give something back to the great people of this forum!!
Now that all of you great people have had your ego stroked for a min get back to DOOING somethin lol!!!!!!!!!!

There were/are some problems with the floats in some of the tanks. Even with a full tank or close it will read much less like you said a 1/4 or even empty. The floats were filling up with gas and sinking to the bottom. Happened to a friends GTX and we swapped floats and its fine. Seadoo doesn't sell just the float but I saw one online somewhere for about $10. Its much cheaper than buying a new $180 baffel. They also had problems with a fuse blowing on the circuit board and not being replaceable. I'm not going to get into detail here as there is a thread on this already with great pics and writeups.

yea that is a great thread and has good detail I believe there is also a link on that thread to buy just the float:agree:

I did the fuel baffle repair fix (great thread) as my fuel gauge wasnt working when I bought my boat. Is the reading adjustable at all? At 3/4 tank full the gauge shows 1/2.... still better than not knowing if you have any fuel, but I was wondering if this is common to all seadoos. My oil light also comes on when it looks like I have at least 40% oil in the tank??

from what I know or have seen (as Karl also said) there is no way to adjust it if it works but just works wrong and you want it right I think you gotta just buy the new one.. If it doesnt work at all then you can try the fuse fix
(as youve already done) or check the float for magnets or if the float does not float while in fuel

Boat position

It also matters what type pitch you have when checking. Of course, when you first give it throttle up and the boat nose is up just a bit, the reading will show high in the tank.

But, I agree with the above post. The magnets could have an affect. I also remember when I had mine out (my gage didn't work either), the board is set tight, there are no adjustments on it.

If there is a level problem, you'd think it's in the gage itself.

add me

You can go ahead and add me to the list of ppl who can thank rx951!!! I got it done tonight it worked my fuel is reading now so :hurray: for me I saved money

Snipe I am sure you know this but maybe for anybody else if you loop a piece of wire on the gauge side of the plug then you will make it have no resistance and it should read all the way to full.. Then you can check the ohm readings on the baffle using the chart above.. and with these 2 tests you should be able to find out if it is the gauge or sending unit that is reading wrong (or both) If it is just not working at all and you've check the gauge then I would go ahead and assume that the fuse is blown inside the baffle:cheers:

ohm reading doean't change on my fuel baffle

I just put a new float in my baffle and I'm no genus here, but when I connect my ohm meter to the wiring coming off of the baffle, the ohm meter just reads 1 and never changes. Does this possibly mean the fuse is probably blown inside the baffle? I just don't want to tear into the baffle and not need to. Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance, John.

well i didnt read back threw this post too see whats already here but i would rule out the gauge first go to the harness from the gauge to mepm and loop a little peice of wire cross the two a sides and gauge should go to full.. if thats good and ur gettin no read from ur baffle as u move float back and forth its that little fuse.. its not that hard to due the fix and trust me i suck with a solder gun but i got it done good look let us know how it goes
ps i did this post from my phone so if spellin and stuff sucks sorry deal with it lol:cheers:
