Well, I opted for the new 180 SE with tower. I love the boat, but I'm concerned about the dealer and service.

I went to pick it up Friday. It was suppose to be ready by 3:00. It wasn't. When I went to inspect it, it was filthy. I made them clean it again. It had leaves under the seats, in the engine compartment, greasy hand prints etc. After a second inferior cleaning, I went ahead and took it, figuring I could clean it better myself (mistake 1). At 6:30 it was ready. I just hooked it up and left, without cranking it (mistake 2). I then drove 350 miles with it. On the way, the little cooler blew out because they didn't fasten the seats down. It was run over on the highway. I'm glad the cushion didn't blow out.

Next morning I got up and cleaned it really well, went to put it in the lake, and it was missing a plug. Went and got a plug. Went back to put it in the water, it wouldn't start. It just made a single long beep. I drove it to another SeaDoo dealer who thankfully was open. It turns out they never programed the key. They also only had 1/2 full of oil and coolant. Those techs told me the boat had not been cranked, after my dealer had already told me that he had heard it run. He says the key must have come unprogramed. I had 4 techs tell me that can't happen unless you replace the computer.

They then inspected my boat and found the bimini top installed incorrectly and ripped AND the bimini cover installed incorrectly and ripped. There's a gouge in the window frame and a dent in both hatches next to the engine compartment. And they found more leaves in the engine compartment. Then after using it for a day, the horn quit working and the bilge runs, but doesn't pump anything.

Tomorrow, I'm calling the GM, but I don't know what to say. If these guys can't clean a boat and prep it for the customer, why should I trust them to do any work on it?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'd take the boat back ,see the manager ,have him fix and replace broken items, throw in some life vests, ski etc to compensate for the inconviences, wax and shine the same as the boat in the showroom or demand my money back:boxing_smiley:
They would probably piss me off at some point in the conversation and go directly to the latter!
If you really like that boat drive to the other dealer and buy one from him.
Can you tell I don't like salesmen:)

Personally, I would take it back, fight for my money back, and buy the boat from the other dealer who acted like he knew what he was talking about.

THEN turn in the first dealer and file a report.

Letter to the editor yours AND his local newspaper...

I could think of more retaliation:rant:

go back and ask for the refund. file a complaint with whomever you can think off. BBB.org usually gets their attention, I did it once and it worked.
