Octane

Hello fellow seadooers. So I was thinking about the octane I should run in my 05 sea-doo. It states that we are supposed to run 87 octane. Will it hurt to run 89 with the 10% ethanol? The reason I am asking is I reserved 400 gallons of fuel through my work so I could get gas for 3.50 a gallon for 6 months. Which is more then enough. The catch is I cannot get 87% octane and I don't want to put the 89% in the ski if it is going to hurt it. My ski is a 2 stroke GTI 2005.

That octane isn't going to hurt it. Even 102 octane wouldn't "hurt" it. It is justed wasted octane as the engine only needs 87 to run properly.

always go higher never go lower.....

more octane wont hurt but lower will cause detonation.

Ethanol

So the ethanol in the gas wouldn't hurt the ski. Since it is only a year old I don't want to screw anything up!

Never use fuel containing more than 10 % alcohol,( Methanol or Ethanol) as severe damage will occur. The minimum of 87 octane is recommended for most engines.
