took out my boat for the first time this year, and every thing was running flawlessly. then after about 3 min into the ride i got an alarm. sounded just like when you dont have the lanyard on properly, except the boat was actualy running. it wouldnt do it constant or anything but it it didnt stop weather we were idleing or cruising.somtimes it might take 5 min between alarms. sometimes shorter, it was always different. seemed to do it more when i was cruising thru a turn tho. could this be in my lanyard? i added a dual battery setup. can the ecm tell if the syatem is charging right? i checked the oil and that was fine (recently changed). i dont get any warning lights or anything when the alarm goes. it does seem to do it more frequently when im at a higher rpm tho. btw. i dont have the automatic bilge pump wire connected temporarily. could that be causeing it?
thanks in advance for any help, mike

alarm

it gives me one long one. same length every time. exactly like when you have the lanyard only half way on. pry about a 3 r 4 second beep

If you got a 2 second beep every 15 minutes or so, this could be a number of possible problems; Low battery, Engine coolant sensor, Exhaust Temp. sensor, Engine oil pressure sensor,MAP,CPS,TPS, or a knock sensor, Fuel Injector, Ignition coil, Fuel Pump or starter solenoid malfunction. After the problem is resolved the code has to be reset by the dealer.
Let us know how you make out.

It could but won't always. It could be a loose wire or sensor or just a sensor going bad. You will need to have the dealer check it for a code on the BUDS,(Bombardier Utility Diagnostic System) and reset the ECM.

will it still beep until the code is erased or if the problem gets fixed will it stop beeping and just keep the code store in the memory? thanks.

It will keep the code in memory even if you disconnect the power. I believe the beeps will continue till it get repaired. If it is just a loose connection it will at least stop beeping unless it has multiple codes than the next one in line will appear... it could be a bad ground, blown fuse or a poor connection.
Give it a check over and see what you find.

i just wonder if its from fuel stabilizer? but anyways it has to be read and reset by a dealer. any idea on $$ for it?

I have no idea...fuel stabilizer shouldn't have done that. Dealers charge $99.00 per hour here in Florida...because they can, with a 1 hr.minium. I'd find the problem and wait to go to the dealer if it corrects the problem. If it gets worse it will let you know.

UGH! these companies drive me bonkers with there lock and key approch to everything!

thanks for the help Karl!! let you no how it goes tomorrow.

solved

so it was either a fowled plug or the stator just isnt powerful enough to charge 2 batteries at the same time. cause i chaged both the plugs and how i wired my batteries and it took care of the alarm and it runs like a champ.:hurray:
