My 1997 SPX came with the hose you attach to the water line to flush the motor out. When I put this hose on the inline spigot in the seadoo and turn the water on it leaks severely. Are there supposed to be any O-rings or gaskets on the spigot on on the end of the hose attachment to prevent this?

Yes........

Yes, when you remove the cap on your flush connection, you should have the round rubber ring that you'll see in any of your garden hose attachements..............

There could also be an o-ring missing from the quick release connector. This can be had from any ACE hardware or similar home improvement store in the plumbing dept.

This model does not have the standard garden hose quick disconnect. It uses the wierd little quick release connector and is white. Should there be an O-ring in the hose or in the "T" connector? Does anyone have a photograph of what it should look like?

PICS ADDED O-Rings on SPX flush hose attachment?

Group,

I decided to add a picture to illustrate the type of connection I have. Has anyone seen this type on a seadoo before and is it missing an O-Ring?

definitely should be an o-ring on the top groove (tip of fitting). Not sure if bottom one is essential or not - as the seal is made at the top one anyway.

Thanks, I knew it couldn't be designed to leak that bad. It looked like the Poseidon Adventure in there with the hose on!!

Correct... My 97 SPX has one on the top fitting NOT the second.
if you need me to i can take a picture of the hose attachment if needed.

let me know if you need anything else.

I tried this last night and actually ended up just removing the hose from the head and attaching the hose there. Since you need this adapter and a hose pincher, is there any reason I can't simply disconnect it and apply hose directly to the head?

No, if you take that T-fitting and remove it from your seadoo and put the hose on it you will notice that the water flows much more slowly out than a normal garden hose. It is designed to reduce the pressure flowing in to your motor and make it more like the supply it would be getting if it were in the water. At least that's the way mine was.

Can anyone else confirm this just in case?
