Not getting a spark

I havge a 1988 gt and ive been trying to get it started but i realized that im not even getting a spark. What could be wrong

well, you should definately check your ignition coil, cuz they do go out.if youre not getting a spark, odds are its the coil, or the plugs.

really anything. in the old skis everything was all in the front engine cover. stator-cdi box-ignition coils. really everything but the kill button and the start button. the kill button grounds the ign to shut it off. check that it doesn't show grounded when not pushed. if that isn't it, it is in the flywheel box. the stuff for this guy is cheap on ebay. nobody is fixing them anymore.
