Hi guys, hoping someone can help me out here. Just had my RXDI serviced at my local dealers and its came back making a hell of a racket. They had told me on the phone the jetpump was noisy, but this wouldnt be heard when in the water and running and wasnt a problem. I havent had it out yet but when sitting running on trailer it sounds as if its due to fall off and sounds for a better word f****d. Was hoping someone could shed some light on this before i get back on the phone to them on monday. Cheers.

Most older seadoos make lots of rattle noises because the impeller doesn't have any load on it sitting on the trailer. It's hard to tell you much more as you haven't listed your seadoo specks in your avatar and I'm only seeing RXDI... For the most part, yea that's normal.
Oh, and f****d...must mean "fortified". Remember this is a family forum.

they are loud out of the water. but if it really bugs you you could do a few things.

make sure the jet pump is full of jet pump oil, replace the spring in the cone of the jet pump, make sure the boot on the PTO wheel is full of grease (use the zerk fitting), and last but def not least check the allignment of the motor.

Thanks for the replies guys, its a 2001 standard RXDI with around 170hrs on it, its just been serviced so surely all of that should of been checked by the dealer?? Its more a rattling clunky sound as if somethings not been tightened up correctly. It wasnt making these noises when i purchased it and maybe im just being paranoid, pump rebuild and the likes are a terrifiying prospect.

Don't assume the dealer did anything extra for free. If you request something to be done and your paying for it, then it got checked. If it is a normal noise like it sounds it is, then it shouldn't be a problem. Look at your receipt from the dealer, If it just says "service" good luck with what was done. Most good dealers will Itemize exactly what they did and go from there...looking for problems to repair to make money. Check the oil in the Nose cone of the jet pump yourself. It's not that big a project and you will learn how things work in the steering and jet pump nozzle. As a "premium member" here on the forum, you can get a service manual to read on line or print off for you own use. Click on the "manual" link at the top of the page for details. We will be here too, if you have any questions along the way.

Hi, thanks for the advice kustomkarl, spoke to shop today and they have assured me the noise is fine, and most older seadoo do this. Told me it has all been checked and if there had been any problem i wouldnt have got the ski back. Peace of mind at least and confirms what ive been told on here, BIG THANKS GUYS.
