Hello, i was riding in the ocean and my ski broke down .. Now i got salt water in my engine and i need to clean it out.. is there anyway to do it without having to run my engine? The problem is pretty werid.. I was running full speed like normal.. And my ski cut off on me. I applied the lanyard back on and it only gives me one quick beep when i try to press start button and nothing else.. it dont turn the engine or anything. Have you guys experience this problem, with the one beep, Or how could i clean the salt out?... Thanks

Have you checked the battery? My skis aren't DESS but I think I remembering hearing that one beep could mean low battery voltage but it's weird that it won't even crank. I don't know of any way to clean the salt water out without running the engine cause you will do worse damage if you run the water without the engine running. My advice would be to do a thorough check of the electrical system first.

Found this too.....

Possible overheat condition. Should check all cooling hoses for melting or leakage.....particularly around exhaust components.

Start with removing the spark plugs to assess the water situation in the engine's cylinders.

Electrically does the boat start? Could you crank? You need to turn the engine to drive the water out of the cylinders. In theory you could siphon out the water with a turkey baster, small tubes or a shop vac with small tip.

Shoot a bunch of Bombardier Lube or fogging oil in the cylinder to help limit corrosion during this critical time.

Once the water is out of the cylinders, you need to try to start the engine. Put the plugs back in and connect the wires.

This is stilla recoverable situation, but you need to get on it before the corrosion really sets in on bearing surfaces.
