No spring in my RAVE valve!

Sorry for the exclamation point. I love drama. So I was poking around my new (to me) 01' Sportster LE 951C. I popped the RAVE caps to check them over and found no spring in one of them. Both are clean and have fluid motion. What are the consequences of a missing spring? How might it manifest itself in terms of performance? Also, I'll look, but does anybody have a part# handy for a RAVE spring and maybe a source?

I got to thinking. I wonder how much pressure it takes to move a rave valve with no spring on it. I mean, is it conceivable that a freely moving rave valve with no spring might even affect compression?

Without the spring... it's basically opening at idle. There's not going to be any damage... but you will lose torque. I guess, and low-is throttle settings, you will put a little extra pressure on the crank, since the pistons will be making power at different levels... but that's probably not enough to cause an issue.

Anyway... put a spring in it, and don't worry.
