I got his used it sat for 2 years and it would not Crank so i poured fuel into the carbs and it Cranked on 1st turn and ran for 5 minutes smoked heavily. I went out for the next hour and cranked it 3 times and it cranked 1st turn every time. on smoking issues i have had advice on it mine is now fuel issue.

Here is the problem. I let it sit for about 3 hours and went out to try it again and it cranked for about 2 seconds then died. I checked fuel filter a bit dirty but not bad. Cleaned filter and put it back on then turned dial to open or to allow fuel to flow and the filter filled about 1/3 full on its own. turned engine over with fuel line off of carb and no fuel comes out of line. Any help would be appreciated.

I would check the fuel line to be sure it isn't plugged. If it has the gray fuel lines I would replace them. If the fuel line clamps look not so good replace them to with stainless steel ones. Chances are if your fuel filter is dirty the small ones in the carburetor need cleaning too. Clean the carbs being careful not to tear the diaphragms or you'll have to buy a rebuild kit. re-assemble it and it should be ready to run. Keep us updated on your progress.

Hi Karl

Seems you hit that one perfect...Thanks you....I checked lines and they are full of gunk ( grey lines ) Took Carbs off and actually they looked very clean except right at points where fuel lines hook to carbs and they were pretty gunked up. Took covers off and cleaned those areas put all back and she fired right up 1st turn and we watched filter and 1st turn drained filter ( sucked into carb ) had to reprime and she ran Great after that filter stays full and i can kill it and restart every time on 1st turn....going to go out to shop and find my roll of 3/8 fuel line and clamps and replace them all...

again thanks seems you have a Great understanding of these Machines ...hope i dont bother u guys too much with all the questions...should have manuals open fairly soon to me and that will help a lot..been 5 days now and i still cant access them tho......

Im glad it worked for you. If you still have questions give us a shout.
