No Beeps when connecting lanyard

I have a 1997 GTS and when I connect the lanyard I get no beeps but starts with no problems. Should I be worried about the beep I think its part of the unit so I would like for it to work, I have heard the there is a part that I might need to replace but I don't know what that part is nor where its located.

Please help

If it starts then the buzzer is bad.

where is the buzzer located and is it easy to replace? where can I get another buzzer

pop the cover part for storage.. and look underneath the handle bar area. See if theres anything unplugged.. the pervious owner of mine unplugged the buzzer.

I'm really not sure on yours. On mine it is in the dash with all the other stuff. Do you have a shop manual? They sell the buzzers on the site on the parts link. I saw yours for 60 bucks. Try ebay also. :cheers:

There are some test you can do for that using a multimeter.
To check baffle, remove baffle disconnect PINK/BLACK and PINK wires, check resistance allowing the float to move up and down.
To check gauge, same thing, disconnect gauge and test with multimeter and measure resistance.
Also check the float in the baffle and make sure it floats. Check to see if the magnets need cleaning or maybe fallen off.
