NO BEEPS, I have a 97 challenger and the MPEM is not beeping but seems to work?

I Have a 97 challenger SeaDoo jet boat with a 787 2 stroke motor I am restoring. I have never heard the MPEM auditable single beeps except on my friends PWC. All of the functions seem to work like starting and killing the motor, not being able to use a different key. but I don’t hear any signal beeps. Does anyone have the same problem? or know how to turn the beeps back on? Or why there off?
I would like to know how to fix this, so when something is wrong, I'll know and it won't cost me a fortune in repairs.

Very common issue, especially on skis. The beepers go bad.

Do a search and you should find the part number for a more affordable option from radio shack.

But, it's 90 bucks. The radio shack version is 8 bucks, and that thread I gave you walks you through installing it. It'll take you 15 minutes.

The one I bought last week from Radio Shack was part #273-068. I was pleased that more than one location had it in stock near me.

I did not even realize these boats were supposed to beep until I started reading the manual. The radio shack replacement went right into the stock sized hole with no sanding or modification on my 97 Challenger. I wired the purple wire to positive and tan wire to negative and pulse. Nice tone and works great now.
