I have an 06 challenger and when I put the key on there are not any beeps. There is power and your hear a noise coming from the engine compartment when the key is put on. The fans, horns, lights everything is working. Battery is fully charged. Why am I not getting beeps and I am unable to start my engine? Any ideas?

Neutral switch ?

I can check it. I have put it in fwd reverse and back to neutral. Normally if it is engaged it will still beep but not the correct sequence. But I will check the neutral switch today.

It can be extremely touchy...when my neutral switch went out, I had to shift F / R ( and tickle it slightly against the F / R position) about 50 times before it would engage.
Dealer wanted a lot for a new switch, so I simply bi-passed (removed) the N switch, that was years ago... never had a problem since.

Because there's no prop, and I'm the only driver, the neutral safety switch wasn't important, after reading stories about how they fail, I decided I could live w/o it.

Even when it was in forward or reverse and I connected the key it would beep. I am not getting any beeps at all anymore, but I have full power to everything. When your neutral switch went out did it still beep?

Checked the neutral switch, start/stop switch, and dess. Also changed out batteries I still am unable to hear beeps or start my boat. Any ideas?

Mine had no beeps but power everywhere else. No beeps no starter engage. If you already replaced n-switch, I'm not sure what else to suspect, hopefully someone else on this forum has had a similar issue.

Good luck,

Didn't replace it just checked it with my voltage meter for conductivity. How did you bypass it so I can check to see if that is it before ordering the part

I would venture to guess you have a hot going into the switch and coming out. If you connect the 2 wires, you should be bypassing the switch.

Yup, I just took the switch out and wire nutted and taped the hot wires together.... I forget what the switch looked like, may be a way to jump across the hot points to check w/o having to cut the wire?

Got my challenger back from seadoo and they are unable to find the problem with the amount of hours I let them use but this is what they checked. As of now nothing has changed with my boat. Any ideas? Replace the module?

Do you have any other dealers in your area? Maybe there is a dealer that can do a swap from another boat to verify the fuse block AND ECU module is good or bad. This is the quickest way to solve your problem.

Also, if you can grab a hold of each wire going to the fuse block module to verify there is not a bad\corroded connection. Check each fuse, make sure each fuse is not intermittent.

I bought a new simple interface installed it and I finally got beeps. It was short lived though. The ECU fuse has popped twice. Any ideas on what would cause that? Where can I get a wiring schematic for my 06 challenger 180?
