I have a 96 GTX with a newer model head cover on it and the old coolant temp. sensor will not fit the newer cover (different thread type). The coolant temp. sensor that fits the head has a different electrical connection than the 96 model. Thanks for any help.

Head type?

Do you know the year and type from which it came off? It sounds like to me, you may have a head from the 787 RFI model, like the 2002 GTX RFI. It has the 787 but a different temp sensor.

It was off of an 02 rfi model. The original head cover was cracked and this was the only spare head cover the engine builder had. Is there any way to convert the sensor or do I just need to find the correct cover. Thanks for the help.

Probably not....

No, I don't think you can convert it. I haven't looked at the drawing yet but the electricals of the Seadoo's are generally engine type specific.

The only option I can think of would be to weld and re-tap. Or, search for some type adapter...........sorry.
