Just bought my first jet skis - 1996 GTI and a 2000 GTS. Haven't had them in the water yet but have changed plugs, did a compression test ( 135 on the GTI and 140 on the GTS) and then hooked up a garden hose to the cooling system to start them. Both start fine, but the GTI idle seems way, way high, runs at rpm much higher than the GTS. I downloaded the service manual and was looking for the idle adjustment screw - you have to do this by feel or something? Where is this thing? There's a square hole in the throttle cable attachment plate that I assume is for acess but I can't see the screw or get any part of my hand in there to feel for. Should be an easy adjustment - what am doing wrong?
