newbie, need HEELLPPP!!!!!! 01' xp130

ok so i just bought this 2001 seadoo xp 130. and it like doesnt start the guy told me he thought it was the carbs that messed up. but it dont think it has anything to do with the carbs. heres the deal when i hit the start button this little box makes a rattiling noise and thats it like the starter doesnt do nothing the motor doesnt feel anything. its like if the powers getting to the box but its not going past it. idk anything about this im new to this, this is my first ski.. but anyways here are some pics of the ski and the little box im taking about....

let me know what u guys think it could be. oh and also if u guys could post up some pics of your engine bay area so i can see what its supposed to look like and if im missing anything in mine.

When you put the lanyard cap on the post, how many beeps do you get?

The box is one of your electrical boxes.........what's missing? The cover. The noise your hearing is probably the starter solenoid. It can make that noise if your battery is dead. Do not jump it off a car that is running.

If the battery is good and you want to see if it will turn over. If you get the two beeps when you put the lanyard cap on, you can take a screwdriver and ground (jump the posts) out the two red wires you see bolted to that round, black thing (solenoid). If you've never jumped a solenoid, be prepared for it to spark and then, turn over. It may scare you a little if you've never done it before.....:cheers:

thanx bro ima try that... and yes i get 2 beeps when i put the key thingy on. but lets say it does work like that jumping like you say, what does that mean ? whats not working that i had to do that?
