Ok so after 30 minues of working the quick disconnect into the hose i finally got everything situated. Turned engine on....turned water on... how do i know the water is actually going where its supposed to go? I'm not really seeing water come out anywhere on the boat besides dripping from the connection. Is it because I only ran it about 20-30 seconds? Where should i see the water exiting afer it's gone through and cleaned out the exhaust?

It should be very obvious. Generally speaking water should be coming out of the exhaust and jet pump area. And for the most part, what goes in must come out. If you run for 20 sec, you should have roughly the same amount of water as if you just ran the hose for 20 sec. on the ground. It sounds like you aren't actually getting any water flowing into the exhaust system if you don't have any coming out.

You have water going in,,, it must come out.

Either you don't really have water going in or it is leaking inside the boat somewhere.

you should also see water come out of the tell-tale (pisser) on a ski.

Is this on a ski or a boat.....please put that info into your profile for us to see.

question to all....Do boats have a tell-tale?

No tell tale on my boat. You should see water coming from the exhaust for sure with the engine running. Or like one of the other posts it has to be leaking into the bilge area.

I have a 2006 Challenger 180. Well i must not have had the quick disconnect situated right because i tried it again today with just a regular garden hose clamped to it and it worked just as it should. Thanks for the help guys! Slowly learning more about this boat as I go.

Code3f - do you leave your flush kit in place or remove it after each flush session. I have a 06 Sportster, and I think we share the same owners manual, but it doesn't mention that. I always remove mine, even though it's a bit of a pain each time. I don't often run in salt water, but flush when in most rivers too, because of the sand present. Thanks, Steve
