I just purchased two new 82mm WSM piston sleeves and 82mm pistons. I have installed the piston sleeves into the stock cylinders and in process of re-assembling the engine, I notice the piston seems like it does not want to start into the new sleeve. Do I need to heat the cylinder before trying this or does the new sleeve need to be honed or bored?

I thought that NEW 82mm piston sleeve+NEW 82mm piston= perfect fit. Am I wrong?? Any help would be appreciated!

DAWG....yah, to compensate for swelling of piston/s, room for rings...?

Piston Swelling Into Sleeve?

OK, I get you. Seemed to me to be a strange way of describing piston to cylinder wall clearance. He needs to take his new pistons and cylinders to a machine shop and have them measure this clearance to make sure it is ok. Sounds to me like it's too tight. The maker of the piston should be able to provide the proper clearance desired. NOTE: different piston manufacturers require different specs.
Good Luck, DAWG
