2001 14.5' Challenger with twin 717s/140mm pumps. I replaced the wear rings today. After putting the impeller back in, it doesn't turn free, it rubs the new ring during parts of its rotation. All blades seem to rub and are generally very close. It's the original OEM impeller.
Is that a concern? I think the pump housing may be slightly oval, the impeller seems to be turning evenly.
Will it just seat and wear down the high spots after running a while leaving a good tight fit? Or do I have a problem?
