New wear ring aren't tight!

I just replaced my old wear rings in my speedster -95. The new ones are tight at the end of the impeller but at the beginning (closest to pto) there are about 0.5 mm gap. should it really be like that? It's original impellers and sbt wear rings.
 
Aftermarket rings are always hit and miss. So... if the impeller will spin, but is just contacting the impeller a little... then spray some WD-40 on it... and start the engine. It will clearance itself very quick. If it's very tight... that's not good.
 
it's not that tight. it spins freely with no gap at all. Thats concerns me is the gap att the beginning at the impeller. shouldn't it be tight all the way?
