I ordered a new impeller and wear ring for my 09 rxp, what other things am I gonna need? This will be my first attempt and I have been reading alot of other post regarding this process. I feel confident I can accomplish this job on my own it really seems like a straight forward process. I am wondering if i chose the right impeller however, i ordered a Solas Concord Impeller - SRZ Series - Pitch 14/19 SRZ-CD-14/19 , that was the recommended prop for my stock rxp according to solas website as far as i can tell. I made a mistake by allowing a friend to use the rxp for a day, I rode it the next weekend and it was cavitating like a boss, I think he may have rode it through a rock quarry :banghead: , Lesson learned, I'm looking forward to getting it pulling like a horse again, i just want to do it right. thanks for any help.

I am in the process of doing the same job on my 09 speedster. It's super easy. I pulled it apart for the second time today after smoothing out the nicks and trying to reuse the same impeller and taking it out and testing it. (wasn't quite as good as new) From the time I pulled it into the shop until I had the housing with the impeller in it in my hand was about ten minutes. All you need is a couple 10mm wrenches for the steering and forward/reverse cables, 5 and 6 mm allen wrenches, pair of pliers for the cotter pin and a 17mm socket with a 12" extension.
As for getting the impeller and wear ring out of the housing, I will get to that tomorrow when I get the new parts.
I do know you are supposed to put the new wear ring in the freezer to shrink it down so it slides in easier,

i just replaced my impeller and wear ring.. it was easy, i didnt freeze it i just lightly tapped it in with a hammer and placed a 2x4 on it so not to damage the ring.. when i got it put together again i couldent turn, the jet is pointed all the way to the right and cannot get it to move... any ideas? you will als need a big allen wrench socket and a impact gun to make life easy
