I installed a new Ware Ring today and was able to use the old impeller. Now it is very tight, you can just about turn it by hand. I called a freind of mine and he said to go ahead and install it and it will break into the new ware ring. Has anyone had this problem and is he correct?

NO!.......do not run!

No, you've got a problem. Do not run that motor. What all did you do when you pulled the pump and ring? You need to find out where you binded up and take care of it, especially if it's a bearing........

I figured out what it was. After installing the new ware ring I did not dill the pilot holes deep enough,so when I put the 4 screws in that hold the ware ring in they were causing the ware ring to be out of round. Drilled pilot holes a little deeper and reinstalled the 4 screws now it spins like a champ with no hitting of the ring. One other question though how much grease do I put in the cone that seals the bearing?"

grease?

Put what you can in the bearing housing (stator) and then, with what you have left in the tube, put in the cap. The cap (cone) should be about full of grease. It works something like that of a bearing hub in your trailer.

We have oil in our cones over here its stinks real bad if it gets on your hands.
And the stinks hard to wash off. Seadoo Cone oil.

I think its recommended for its high output properties.
Ive not heard of grease in the cone. (or maybe its because the waters warm over there)LoL.
