Hello all,

I am brand new to the world of jet skiing and to this forum so I would greatly appreciate some advice. Last week a bought a 2001 Seadoo GTI and the bottom of it had some oil in it. The dealer said it was left over from a repair last fall (grommit replaced). I have washed out the hull 3 times now with dish soap and water and I keep finding oil in the bottom. Now initially the tank had all green coored pwc oil in it and I put brown bulk oil in it last weekend when I was done. So far all the oil in the bottom has been green.

I currently have it at a dealer in my town to make sure there is still not a leak but here are my 2 questions:

1. What is the best way to clean out all the oil? Is it using dish soap or should I use something like simple green?

2. Any ideas for me as a novice user to make sure the oil is not part of a new leak?

Thanks a lot in advance for your expert advice,
Brian

you get warr. w/ the purchase?, Shouldn't leak when it comes back. Could've tried drain'n the whole system yourself, then add new oil, see what happens, while, checking and lines and retightning them, might be crack hose??

update

The dealer I brought it to said the oil tank was seperating in 2 spots and there was another hose that was leaking. I gues that takes care of the problem but how do I get everything clean? ideas?

probly, tip trailer up, and start spray'n simple green, get long handled brush, then wipe down w/ $-it load of rags. also use some water, but wouldn't spray it in there, just fill ur up just above driveline assy....

The purple stuff that Robin mentioned is the best thing to use. Be carefull as it is real strong and can take off paint. There is no need to even brush it ...spray it on, let it set like 15 minutes, and hit it with a high power garden hose...it washes right away.
