I am going to put new trailer bunks and hardware one. The cross memebers are 6 ft apart front to back. I am planning on using 2"x6" treated boards. I have a 2002 seadoo utopia 205 and from what i can find it weighs around 2500lbs. Is 6' too far of a span for this or will it be ok? and i am looking to buy 10" bunk brackets like the ones here--

-- will these be stong enough for the boat as well? Thanks for the help!!

The HTML link isn't working. I'm sure the bunks you wan t to use will be find. I would just duplicate the old set up. You can get brackets from any trailer dealer or marine supply store. Be sure they are galvanized.

i am actually starting kinda of from scratch. The trailer right now is set up with 4 different bunks. they are all 2ft long and there is 2 in the front and 2 in the back and they are all able to rock forward and back. i don't really care for this set up so i am going to take them off and put these different brackets on and have two 9ft bunks that run parallel. I have taken measurement for how high the bunks need to sit so that the bottom of the boat won't sit. Then i will measure from the outside of the trailer on each cross member for a place to put my brackets and then do that for each of the 4 brackets. i just wanted to make sure that the 2x6 boards and the brakets would be sturdy enough.

Oh yea, it should be plenty sturdy. Be sure the V of the boat is set so the boat won't set off center and it should center itself as it is loaded. You might want to look at another seadoo trailer of the same boat size just to have a better idea and save ya from scratching your head for the perfect position. :)

The link works...I used the same ones before...use galvanized bolts ect. too

yea i want to find one and get some measurements on how far out to put the bunks. also did you just use u bolts for the brackets or did you have a flat plate on the other side of the cross member to told it there?

I used a flat galvanized plate opposite bracket, with 2 holes in it to sandwich the trailer frame and used 2 bolts, washers and nuts to tighten it. On my Caravan Seadoo trailer on my 2008 200 Speedster the bunks( 2x6 wrapped in carpet) are laying flat...and not on end, it works fine. just set the proper height so boat won't bottom out on trailer.

yea that was my plan laying them flat. i don't know right off my head what the mearurement is but if i measure like 20 inches (just using a measurement for example) from the outside of the frame on all 4 spots, then the boat should be centered right?
