Hi all, I just bought two 2004 GTX 4-Techs with about 65 hrs on each. They look to be in very good condition but was interested in your feedback regarding mandatory maintenance items that should be completed given the time on the machines. Also, my preliminary reading indicates that although they are closed loop cooling they should not be operated out of the water due to the exhaust cooling requirements. I have noticed many PWC owners "blowing out" the exhaust water immediately after trailering their machines and wondered if that was really necessary? Thanks, JG

Welcome to the seadoo forum JG. Do you have a seadoo shop manual? If not here’s an idea for you. You could join as a "premium member". As a premium member you can down load a authentic seadoo manual from the seadoo manual library. In the library is a variety of manuals for almost all years and models. You can view as many as you like on line as a PDF file, or download it and print it for your personal and private use. There are operator manuals and repair manuals for you to do your own repairs on your seadoo. The repair manuals have everything from troubleshooting, repair procedures to winterizing. It contains wire diagrams torque specs and pictures for disassemble and assemble instructions. In the spec sheets it tells everything needed to maintain oil changes, spark plug gaps, carburetor rebuilds and impeller wear ring tolerances. Click on the "Seadoo Manuals" link at the top of the page for more details. If you need any help or get in a jam, we are always here to answer your questions too. Premium members get priority when it comes to getting quick detailed answers.

Thanks for the suggestions Karl. I have purchased a maintenance manual CD on EBAY, now we'll see what I really get when it arrives. As I become more familiar with the forums I may very well upgrade to the premeium membership. Thanks, JG

There is a lot of information in the manuals that would take me like 4 pages of typing to communicate to you what to do and look for. It seems to be the easiest way, just to read what is needed to check. I bought a manual for my 2008 200speedster from my local seadoo dealer, because the seadoo forum didn't have it as it was brand new jet boat. It cost me $85.00. The forums cost like $10.95 a month, for all the manuals and seems to be the best deal around. The moderators here are volunteers here, and don't get paid anything for our services. I only suggest it as it is such a good deal.
