What's up guys, new to forum and new to seadoo boats. Just picked up a 2012 seadoo challenger 180 with 100 hours on the dot in beautiful condition. I paid $8500 for it with a brand new trailer.

Couple questions tho. The speedo said the boat was going 28mph at wot. My phone gps said 38mph. But aren't these boats supposed to go about 48-50mph? Previous owner said it would do that. This past weekend was essentially the first time it was used this year. Almost felt like something was slipping, it wasn't really jumping out of the water. I've heard there is a supercharger clutch, which is essentially 5 pressure washers, maybe they are bad, also heard superchargers need to be rebuilt at 100 hours on pwc, but heard 200 hours on boats.

Any feedback is much appreciated

Thanks Ryan

If you have no history of the supercharger being rebuilt, then you should rebuild it. I believe the hours are 1 measurement for replacement. The other measurement is time. I believe it's every 2 years or 100 - 200 hours depending on the year of your boat.

Gotcha. I do have a complete history at the marina since it's been going to the same place every winter and for all maintenance. But the previous owner was sure the supercharger wasn't done

I suspect you also have some jet pump issues since it is not jumping out of the hole at full throttle and probably cavitating.

I would pull the jet pump and inspect, could be as simple as a new wear ring or you could have other damage. I definitely agree that you need to have the supercharger rebuilt. Probably would not be a bad idea to change the coolant as well, supposed to be done every 2 years to avoid problems.

Post some picks of your jet pump if you are unsure and we can help you determine what is wrong and in need of replacement.

Thanks. I'll look into it. Any motor mods for these kitty's. Thinking an exhaust or something, don't know if any of the pwc exhaust fit this boat
