Hi - I'm new to the 2S PWC thread, but not the 2S sport boats
I just purchased (2) 1998 SeaDoo (a GS and a GTS) I hope they're easier to find parts for then my 1995 Speedster - or did I shoot myself in the foot again?

The GTS needs a new steering cover (violet) part #277 000 711 - any ideas?

Thanks in advance any help

For new parts click on Sea-Doo parts at the top of this page, for used parts Nick Minnetonka4me Also try to google the part number.

Thanks lou!

Yes, thanks Lou - I've got the obvious figured out as the owner of a Speedster (New parts link at the top & google), I've also seen Minnetonka4me's posts and name mentioned. What I was hoping for is input from a member that has run across this situation and has a solution. Or a shout out from a member that has what I need. I have an idea that may work and you seasoned PWC owners may already utilize.
Example;
The GTS cover (violet) appears hard to find but I have a GS steering cover and the major difference looks to be the stop/start button (triangle mount). So can I purchase the GS stop/start mount (appears available with no color complications) and use it with my GS steering cover? Is the button itself & wiring the same for both GS & GTS? I guess I can always pull my GS apart and find out as well.

Thanks for any help

I have a black tip neoprene cover NIB FS if your interested?

If the issue is that it is just faded then hit it with some good plastic cleaner, and perhaps some rubbing compound. Then hit it with a heat gun. The heat gun quite possibly will get rid of the white fog on the plastic. It works great on the bumper rails to bring them back to new. Then you don't have to buy anything. BTW, I am an Aztec from SDSU. I loved living down there (far too many years ago)

The original steering cover disintegrated like a warm crayon. The black tie fix is only a wet suit for an existing cover - correct???

Well it appears that your options are few but you do have a couple of options. Buy a used serviceable handlebar cover from Minnetonka4me and then buy either the black tip cover from ocod or this one ebay. I honestly don't think you are going to find the cover in the color you want, it's pretty rare.
