New Owner and have questions on some items

This boat is different from anything I have ever owned. There is a plug thing near the rear seats that I have no idea what it is for since he has a number of prongs. Can anyone tell me what it is. Also, there was something dangling inside the compartment near the dashboard, it obviously needs to be connected to something but I have no idea what it is, can anyone help with that? I think it has something to do with steering at slow speeds. There is a Hummingbird Gage that is all cloudy and the it stays lit. What can I replace that with?
